the academy award nominations were released today and it seems that into the wild was overlooked in not 1, not 2... but 4 MAJOR awards..

sean penn - best director
emile hirsh - best actor
best cinematography
and... best film itself...

HMM...

also .. tim burton has NEVER been nominated and i thought finally ala scorcese it was time for best director (sweeney todd) , johnny greenwood's musical score for there will be blood ... and i woulda thought across the universe mighta scored a nom for art direction

anyways, with the writers strike still going on it looks like it might not even go ahead!
