hi mummy

yeh, that's right. she loves to read and comment. maybe more of you should take note.

p.s - everyone loves not to comment after her attempt. even though there was so much to make fun of.

if you're out there..

to the fat mole who argued with me at work about dawson's creek.

I HATE YOUR STINKIN' GUTS!

you dare try and tell me that dawson died and that's why the show was called dawson's creek. now, i will admit i have never watched the show in its entirety... but i was pretty fucking certain that he didn't pass on.

but she insisted that she was right, as we (in a freindly way) yelled back and forth from the counter about the final moments.

you were so fucking wrong.
"oh yeh, nah nah... i love that show man, i bought the whole box-set and every-fing"

nooo. i thought he ended up going to LA and make a TV show called dawson's creek.

"nah dude... he dies and then the scatter his ashes."

ARGHHHHHH!!!!! you fucking lying scum! how dare you out shine me when you are wrong. and make me feel like a dum dum in my own place of work!!!
p.s - i hate you.

into the wild

so it was another trip to hoyts in less than 24 hours to see the new film from sean penn.

carol's first time into the half-pipe cinema and 10 minutes in she says, "this is a really long trailer" HA! she didn't know we were seeing it.

anyways, the movie was great. inspiring and tragic. sad and joyous. moving... and selfish. this film is a weird little machine.

it's the true story of christopher mccandless who has just graduated from college and then decides to donate his trust fund ($ 24,000) to oxfam and go out driving and explore the land- ultimately ending up in alaska.

emile hirsch (who i have had a boy crush on since girl next door) is incredible as the young "supertramp" and by the end is absolutely scary how into the role he get's. the scene with the moose... YIKES!

the cinematography by eric gautier is breath-taking. he captures the whole grand beauty of the land so intimately and when accompanied by the music of eddie vedder (the first time he has written a film soundtrack) it is pretty up there.

i haven't seen penn's other directorial efforts, but i am extremely keen on watching them, esp. the pledge, which apparently has one of jack nicholsons greatest performances from his career of late. anyways, the direction is all there and you can totally see that he milked every little thing out of his actors. catherine keener and vince vaughn and the heart-breaking scene with hal holbrook who plays ron. ohhhh. the tears!

ANYWAYS... this film as i said was weird. it left me soo inspired and then totally shattered at the end. i dunno. definately worth watching. but prepare for some emo.

night with the nerds.

so it was like 10.45 pm on friday and most people would either be in bed or drinking and dancing the night away. where was i? i was with (because he's my...) butler at hoyts watching a special screening of the cult anime hit, akira.

now i was a little meh about the whole idea... only because i was so tired and i had only just finished work. anyways, i'm extremely glad i went because it was
AMAZING!
YES.. that's right. anyways, the whole thing was sooo spectacular... the cinematography and lighting was a wet dream ... i could sooo see all the other films that got inspiration/totally ripped off shots from.

and the music. downloading the soundtrack as we speak/as i speak. and it was east to follow. i didn't feel like a dum dum.

yes, highly recommended viewing. nah, essential.

burke & wills

just watched this independent aussie film and it was really good. low budget. black&white. large chunks of dialogue. two guys.

its about 2 guys that move in together. quite funny. and depressing. and slightly unsettling.

this has to be the laziest review ever. but it's definately worth the watch. written, acted, directed & produced by 2 guys from the sydney theatre company cake.

"you smell like sex can you go have a shower?"

yes, so look out for it next time you're in your local video ezy...

ironic update

loves to be. first there was nothing. then something. and then the promise of more things to come with less of what was previously being posted. then nothing. and nothing...

but.. OUTRAGE!

yes, im talking about ben's blog and how it hasnt learned to the love the bomb.

omg, speaking of bombs... there is a guy at work (who might be fabulous but i cant tell because he hides behind his disguise of being an "emo") who was wearing a 24 t-shirt!!! there are fans out there... anyways, he is new and everything so we talked and it was love. for the bauer. nothing else. anyways, that just came to mind.

so what have i been doing with my life?

working.

working and watching movies. currently working a full time week.. and then some more it seems. work has been pretty spastic lately- with christmas starting and everyone alredy doing their shopping. meh.. it's okay.

movies... what have i seen? across the universe, control, death proof, mighty heart, eastern promises... and a few more.. cant be arsed writing reviews for them but worth checking out... i'm sure you know what you'd like.

  • saw an elderly person over take a fat person in the shopping centre the other day. thought that was funny. and then thought who would win in a running competition. like long distance? i recjon the elderly would go slow and steady whereas fatty would use all his energy in one foul swoop.
  • writers strike in hollywood contues to stress me out about my life. 24, lost, ugly betty and every other effing gold gem that comes from the states? ohhh... god.. i have been downloading like an effing nutter, not even being able to keep up with it all.

dexter s2, big love s2, the wire (all seasons), friday night lights, weeds, life as we know it, dirty sexy money, the riches, skins, survivor... MAAAN!!! it's bloody tough.

  • lounge room is being occupied by cara (she's from QLD and is a girl version of me sometimes) ... we both watched "choir of hard knocks" in 1 sitting. ohhh so emotional. .. the homeless of melbourne singing flame trees equals ouch.
many tears. carol laughed at me.

both sisters have left me for career opps. 1 in sydney, the other out in the paddocks with the saddle club. love to be slightly jealous of both. oh well. dum ya. sarah is now studying and likim is hanging out with these gals.

going to a late halloween party on saturday. have no idea what to go as. i want something cool and not lame. trendy but "outside the box" and nothing that someone else is going to do already.

i cant think of anything and anything that anyones suggests i dont think is cool. im a jerk.

still saving for my video camera. probably in december for christmas. yay.

enough for now. i hope ur all happy. now let me post some posters and youtube clips.
