whilst catching the tram home after one of my unbelievable shifts at highpoint this christmas, i came across the dummest christmas hat ever in history!!!!

this photo was taken without the kid knowing, and then he turned around and said... "how cool is my hat huh?"

that's when i actually asked him if i can take a "real" photo of it!!!

the thing has effing antlers on it with fucking fairylights drapped over it!!!

i'm thinking all that electrical wiring that close to your brain cant be a good thing???

after living in melbourne for nearly 6 years i was amazed at the fact i had never been to a lazy moe's restaurant...

let's just say i was sickened to my core at the size of these meals... and being someone who usually eats a shitload.. i was even taken back at all they had to offer...

there isn't much to this story .. but i thought i'd share a couple of pictures of the food...

i was in shock at the size of this thing... it was like a slab of chicken, possibly 5cm in thickness with about half a bag of cheese on the top... served on the most ridiculous serving of chips/potato chunks i have ever seen!!!

i wasnt fazed though... i ploughed through like a survivor contestant at a food reward challenge!

forget christmas... this is coming!!!

coz MGMT sucked!!! .. well, they didnt suck... they werent great or amazing.. it was just... average...

anyways... i cant be bothered talking about it... basically every stuck-up hottie in melbs was there and wearing their skinny leg jeans and slippers... (not me actually, i was in shorts)

a f'ing eyes!

another year has nearly passed and that means another opp for ben to give up his precious time to volunteer at the AUSTRALIAN FILM INDUSTRY'S night of nights!!! the mother-effing AFI'S!!!!!

this year, they were celebrating the 50th yr of aussie film and the awards and it was also my 4th year of getting drunk and partying with the celebs... (more on that later)

they also changed the venue to the princess theatre... it was alot different from last year... there was no sit down dinner and the after party was moved to my old pal.. the forum theatre!

anyways... basically spent 2 days lifting the fucking heaviest boxes of loreal showbags up flights of stairs and running around the most intricate set of passage ways in the theatre.. (it was actually quite exciting running around backstage learning about all the different corridors etc etc... made me think of making a movie with 1 Steadicam short all about the life back stage... semi russian ark-ish)

got to eat incredible catering food... i even amazed myself by having 3 serves of mains for dinner and then 2 or 3 serves of dessert including sticky-date pudding and fresh fruit salad with like extra thick cream!!! OMFG!!!

after all the faffing about it was time to get serious. plan our trip to the after party!!! yes, ben was going to get shit-faced and hug as many celebs as humanly possible!!!

cool... so all us cool vollies walked down to the forum theatre... carrying about 5 kgs of loreal shit that we snuck out... (the loreal woman caught us taking boxes after having previously stuffed like already $100 bucks of shit into our bags... she told us "ONE BOX ONLY" ... little did she know the previous night at industry awards i took a whole carton home!!!)

we flashed our access passes that got us entry to the foyer... and then snuck into a side room where we left all out shit.. got changed and then headed straight to the bar for as many freeee drinks as possible!!!

walking into the theatre was quite amazing.. i was impressed with it for crowded house, but having seen it full life and buzz in a social scene was also pretty inspiring... all these people that i guess i look up to in 1 room is pretty cool... and the fact i was just brushing past them was funnn!!!

the rest of the night was a blur as i got so shitfaced and LOST MY CAMERA!!!! (i dont want to talk about it... but basically i had photos with every single bastard there and all gone!!!)

HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE...

• dancing with julia zeimero
• having "crump-a-thons" with sun park (of hi-5 and the jammed)
• photo with fucking dr george miller and guy pearce (me in the middle.. my arms around both of them)
• going up to martin sacks from underbelly and telling him my dad used to cook for you in noosa when you went there for holidays
• approaching jane kennedy and telling her that i used to loooove shirty the slightly aggressive bear...
• her telling me that means so much to her and was the most random thing she's heard!!!
• photos with all the girls from "the jammed"
• dancing away with the main dude from september and then getting invited back to his hotel room for more partying
• photos with the majority of the underbelly peeps...
• meeting rhys wakefield and telling him luke arnold says hello... which kinda blew his mind.

and the list goes on and on and on...

in summation.. one of the best nights of my life social scene wise!!!

crowded house

so after 22 years of waiting to go to my first real concert, it seemed kinda fitting/nice that it would be crowded house - the band that i grew up listening to with all the songs... knowing most of the words and blah blah blah...

anyways... we shuffled off to the forum theatre, which was totally spectacular... i'd never been there before and it was quite impressive to see all the statues and the roman-esque design of the place..

more importantly.. they were awesome!!! played for nearly 3 hrs ... and they also did a small q&a with the audience that resulted in some random guys from the audience playing with them on stage... quite inspiring!!!

unfortunately i didn't have my camera on me because i wasnt sure what the rules were.. i shoulda not given a shit because it turned out there was some douche with a microphone standing next to li-kim recording the whole effing thing!!!

but.. i must say... for my first real like standing concert... it was an absolute pleasure apart from all the tall fuckers standing in the way of the little people... seriously... you cant help that you're tall but you can help from being a jerk and standing in front of all us midgets!!! ergh!

with the loss of true blood, everyone i know seems to be all... "WHAT NEXT" how am i going to live???
