finally got to see what all the fuss was about... and... well,

went to the espy down st. kilda way for a night of entertainment provided by a guy i work withs band (is that the good english?)

yeh.. so, started out a little later than usual... but once there it was all fun and games. it was good to see all the work crew who usually dont go out there and pinging etc...

highlights of the evening were -- the african band playing all those tunes i know and love, seeing the DJ who was/is a member at video ezy, dancing my ass off (stepping up, bringing it on, sticking it, serving it up to you... all the hits), the man/guy/woman/lady that had us all confused... and of course... CHICKS DIG SCARS

egggggggggggggggggs

it was good friday and that meant... easter egg decorating...

i have only done this maybe a few times in my life... last year it was so shithouse and frustrating i ended up with something that looked like it had been coasted with vomit from a child who just ate a rainbow paddle pop.

this year... it was a little bit of an improvement. i managed to paint a whole egg without compromising my artistic credibility... but certainly didn't have the skill to reach these results..


here is my egg... pictured below.. the photo really doesn't do it justice but as far as i was concerned a boat fishing for salmon on the ocean with the scorching sun was a pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good effort.

note: the cracks in the sun... that's where i dropped my egg!

so lately steve and i have been trying (in a very slow and lazy way) to find a housemate that will suit this place. it is actually quite hard because we have realised that we are both socially retarded and awkward and to be honest, i would really like for a younger hotter version of this man to move in...

but the chances of that actually happening are pretty slim so we have been pretty general on our advertisement and i have been interviewing pretty much anyone that called.

mmm no real massive highlights that stand out...

anyways, the quest continues and hopefully it all works out. i have faith that the guy named dom will be as good as he sounded.

really.. i want someone arty and funny, can cook... has good fashion sense... not overly threatening sexually.. mm likes good movies.. and tv shows.. is a little bit of a nerd... not obsessive about sport but isn't too fussed... and... yeh... i dunno...

is that too much to ask???

all i know is i wouldn't have these housemates any day!

yeh, i have officially ended my silly contract with the gym. i can now wash my hands and bury that money sucking hell hole that was fitness first.

bit and pieces...

so... had my shift days work for the ABC the other day... it was good...

i did about 8 hours of specks&specks and it was totally cruisy. it was weird. it wasnt like when i have been in for filming for other game shows ie. deal or no deal and 1vs100 ... this was actually a cool/fun environment!

i got shown around the studios and all that and saw where all the make-up rooms and stuff were ... yeh... so, not much to report except that it was fun and interesting and not too stressful. oh, i get pretty much a free comedy show whenever ross noble is in...

and to be honest... he was looking strangely attractive ... it must have been the crazy dreadlocks he has now.. because he usually slips under my "weird but slightly good-looking" radar...

yes.. that is film lingo people. after my trip to daylesford its back to the usual of no, we are sold out of summer heights high..

so... did i learn anything from my time out there? and was i useful? yes and yes. it was fantastic. i totally miss all that on set bonding and fun you have!! i was with 2nd unit for most of my time there... they do the smaller dialogue scenes and stuff like that... it was a long day... and most of the time hard work.

and the horses. well, all i can say is that they were all the pretty ones. ha. no... i was amazed at how talented they were... all the tricks and training that had been put into them. they are beautiful animals and once i had gotten over my fear of they can kill me if they wanted to i was very comfortable to be around them. and my god... they can piss.

anyways... what was i actually doing? just little things.. i got to do the clapper slates and stuff like that before each shot was called... and all the little jobs that needed doing. it wasn't the most glamorous job ... but none of them are. thats what i love about it.

yeh... it was absolutely stunning out there.. unfortunately i didnt have a camera out there to take any photos of the location where we were shooting... but it was basically on the top of a hill (the horse stable) and then it drops down into this valley where there are millions of trees and bush and the sun rises from over the top. MAGIC!

getting up before the sun was a little tough but the catering made it all worth it. i have never eaten that well in the middle of nowhere before. it was amazing. oohhhhh...

up next for ben is spicks & specks. yes, i think i might be employed by the ABC.
