it was amaaaaaaaaazing!!!

for days i was looking forward to the "kensington day" event to be held in the holland park. the flyer (which was printed on paper that had bright fireworks all over it) advertised rides, food, stalls, fun, a free movie... etc etc


so.. i rush home from work hoping i havent missed this neighbourhood spectacular of little black kids running around the park flying kites while their parents made me some authentic afrikaan goodness..

MY GOD WAS I WRONG!!!!


it turns out the event was only held inside the fucking swimming pool...

the rides was a slide into the pool...
stalls were offering swimming shit and towels etc...
the free movie was showing on a shitty projector inside the pool
and the food was a sausage sizzle...

and fireworks??? there were none!!! i didnt stay for long... and it wasnt until i checked the flyer for closer inspection... there was no mention of them... but the fact it was printed on paper covered in the motherfuckers made me think there was!!!

anyways... im not one to turn down a snag in bread... so, i coughed up my 3 bucks (which i thought was kinda pricey) and then gobbled that bitch down!!!


all in all.... i was utterly disappointed with what the organisers had done.. i thought it was a massive event to celebrate kensington's diversity and cool parks and shit... and all i got wasa bunch of fucking hippies protesting and a rotary club sausage!!!

well, summer is just around the corner... or perhaps it is here and i just don't know it yet...

so, in a very cheap and tasteful way of getting hot and fit for the beach.. i have made my first investment into the world of "home gym"

i was in BIG W and i thought... hmm... i should buy a fitness ball... and, yes... i did... not onlu is it a faaabulous colour, it came with a bonus DVD...

if you're ever over at my house and either want to get fit or have a laugh watching me get fit... the invitation is there!

the workout is kinda semi difficult and it does hurt a little bit.. so i know that come 3 or 4 months time... i will be fitter than a fiddler on the roof..

anyways... feeling like some torture... i trotted off to the jam factory in 49 degree heat to stand amongst an army of screaming teenage girls (and some gays) for the melbourne premiere of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 3!!

zac and his lass (or beard) were there as well as the one who got the nose job... and the director/genius behind this money making machine!!!

needless to say i was pretty keen to get a glimpse of my soon to be future best friend ...

after living in kensington for more than 4 yrs or something it was finally time to head down to the corner cafe and have one of these famous effing breakfast in a pan things...

it was amazing!!! everything... and i mean everything chucked into a pan and then topped with so much cheese!!!

most of the time i complain how they claim to be a big brekkie but it is just an entree... this thing... 4 bits of bread... FOUR! i was in shock.... 2 eggs... 2 sausages, baked beans, bacon... like a whole tomato... mmm anyways...

i was the only person to actually finish a whole thing and then i started on carols... i nearly threw up but thank the gods that my stomach made room somewhere...

anyways... if you are ever in my neck of the woods... have one... or, make one yourself...

so finally i went and saw wicked after however many months of people telling me that i should and blah blah blah...

needless to say it was great and fantastic, although it didnt blow me away like the lion king did... it was pretty cool to see all the little bits of wizard of oz mashed in and the fact that your old pal anthony callea was the tin man... and bloody rob mills was the scarecrow!!!

despite these two idols in the cast, they were actually pretty good... managing to carry off an impressive enough (i thought anyways) american accent...

it was all going good and i was grinning ear to ear when "defying gravity" came on.. and then something went wrong...

THE WICKED BITCH OF THE WEST DIDNT FLY!!!!

the whole time i was watching it... i was like,

"hmmm, it's cool.. but it would be heaps better if she was actually flying since she is singing about it..."

turns out that there was a fault on our night and the cabling or rigging system that lifts her and broomey up into the air wasn't working!!! ARGHHHH

anyways, it was a good night and probably will go back and try our luck with the raffle tickets... here are some pictures from inside the theatre with everyone leaving!!
